[Mar 6, 2010]

Mumbai, March 6 2010: First the cricket champ Sachin Tendulkar, then entrepreneur Mukesh Ambani and now its Maharashtra Governor K Sankaranarayanan who is at the receiving end of the Shiv Sena wrath, for proclaiming that Mumbai belongs to all.

The Governor had said yesterday, "Anybody can live in Mumbai. Only Mumbai can compete with itself. The rich, middle class and the poor co-exist here".

Reacting to Sankaranarayanan statement, Sena chief Bal Thackeray in an editorial in the party mouthpiece 'Saamana', today said, "Saying that migrants will continue to come to Mumbai is akin to betrayal of Maharashtra."

Sankaranarayanan, in his first informal interaction with media persons since taking over the gubernatorial post, said although civic and infrastructure facilities needed to be improved in the metro, migration from other parts of the country could not be curbed.
